Because I'm in America, I have access to some films I can't watch elsewhere. In particular: Spider-Man – No Way Home.

It is spectacular. And makes me much happier about Tom Holland's movies.

I like Tom Holland. I don't like the other two movies that much, because they're missing what makes Peter Parker who he is, and they're doing Aunt May wrong. BUT this last movie has fixed all that! It makes it clear that (a) this is one Spider-Man within a whole multiverse of others; and (b) this is Spider-Man before half of his origin story has happened.

The moment May said "With great power comes great responsibility" I thought "Oh, shit, she's going to die" – and then she DID, and it was AWESOME, because suddenly this Peter had an origin story with May rather than Ben, and the other two Peters were relating to him using their own Uncle Ben stories, and it was simply terrific.

It turned Tobey's Peter into a wise mentor, gave Andrew's Peter closure, and turned Tom's Peter into the Spider-Man I'd been wanting all along.

Now I just need to go home and buy the DVD, so I can watch it again.

Yeah, I bought that one on streaming, I loved it that much. It's by far my favorite next to Into the Spiderverse. Provided me with all the things that I felt were missing from the previous films, plus Tom Holland is perfect casting as Spiderman.

Like you, I haven't been terribly fussed on Tom Holland's movies (they're not bad, they just don't grip me as well as the others) but No Way Home was fantastic to show what the Peters had in common and how those same themes of loss and responsibility keep showing up over and over. And it was also just a great deal of fun to see them interracting.

I totally agree. It was such a sad ending too.
