deird1Decided to do shadowkat's TV meme. And I'm dreadful at finishing these, so I'm going to try doing it all in one go.
1: What Television Series did you last finish? When was that?
Elementary. And I enjoyed it all the way through, which is rare.
2: What are you currently watching?
Stargate Atlantis, Dark Matter, Burn Notice, Bones, and The Nevers.
3: What television series are you planning to watch next?
Gentleman Jack, as soon as I can get my hands on a copy.
4: What was the last television show you added to your to watch list?
Gentleman Jack, after Bernadette Banner mentioned it on her YouTube show.
5: Which television show did you last re-watch?
I tend to overlap rewatches and new watches, with about five shows on the go at a time. The most recent rewatch I finished was Stargate SG-1.
Currently rewatching Leverage. And The Good Place. And The Newsroom. And Jane the Virgin.
6: Which television series was the last one you really, really loved?
Not entirely sure. My tv loves are few and far between. It'd probably still be Buffy or Farscape.
7: What was/were the last television shows you bought on DVD?
The Good Place. It was worth it.
8: Streaming, Cable or Broadcast? Why?
The "cable" part of this question doesn't really apply to Australia. And I haven't watched broadcast tv since Channel 10 thoroughly screwed up Veronica Mars season 1. For me, it's mostly a choice between DVD and streaming. And I pick... both. I still buy plenty of DVDs, but I also have Disney+.
9: Children's, YA, NA or Adult?
Adult. But fairly non-gorey.
10: Sci-Fi or fantasy?
Sci-fi. I like fantasy novels, but really don't enjoy classic fantasy on tv. Whereas space fiction on tv is totally my thing.
11: Classic Television or modern?
I like the era where everything's episodic, but the most modern part of that. So, 90s and early 2000s.
12: Political talk shows or comedic ones?
Political. (But talk shows mostly aren't something I watch.)
13: Name a television series with a really bad book/comic/movie adaptation.
Buffy! The comic book was dreadful.
14: Name a television series where the movie/book adaptation actually was better than the television series.
Hmm… Tricky. I really can't think of one.
15: What television series changed your life?
Buffy! I wouldn't have half the interests I have now if it weren't for this show.
16: If you could bring three television shows to a deserted island which would you bring and why?
Am I trying to get off the island, or just deal with boredom?
Assuming boredom: Stargate, Frasier, and Murdoch Mysteries. Because they're all fun, all different genres, and a total of 34 seasons long (39, if I'm allowed to include Stargate Atlantis).

Phoenix TV. For no reason other than whimsy.
18: Which character from a television series is the most like you?
Anya, from Buffy. (With second place going to Dawn and Fred.)

Protagonists only… Nate Ford. I am not good at manipulating people, I am not good at planning cons, and I do not have a tragic backstory. Other than the fact that we both care about children, we have nothing whatsoever in common.

I've liked a couple. But they're not really my thing. I prefer a more traditional structure.

Streaming is convenient, but DVD rental meant I could watch the DVD special features. That was way better. I still buy DVDs where I can.

Spellbinder! An Australian fantasy show for kids. It was very fun.

Dawson's Creek. It got me interested in what writers and directors are doing, as much as watching the actual story.

Yes, but I don't use it often.

None whatsoever.

44: Do you like to listen to television shows in the background when you do other things? Do you do other things while watching tv?
Definitely. I watch tv while cooking, while editing, while crafting, while playing Stardew Valley… There are only a few shows that I give my undivided attention to. (Farscape is one, because so much happens in the looks between the main characters, rather than the dialogue.)

Brownies and tea.

I watch Frasier and the West Wing on repeat until I feel like something else.
