1) Stonehenge really exists, and is not an elaborate hoax. (Or else a really well-constructed one.)

2) Winchester Cathedral does indeed have a jigsaw puzzle window. One day I will solve it...

3) Walked on top of Jane Austen's grave without realising. Hope she'll forgive me.

4) The white cliffs of Dover are, in fact, white and cliff-like.

5) Stayed in the most adorable attic room known to man. Want to take it back to Australia with me.

6) Ramsgate does exist, but is slightly more modern than Georgiana Darcy would have found it.

7) London traffic is rather horrendous, as expected.

8) Also - have reached London! So far, have only seen our hostel. (And traffic.)

Enjoy your trip! We actually enjoyed the other parts of the country we went to more than we did London. Not that we didn't get a wonderful nighttime tour and dinner at an amazing Italian restaurant (courtesy of an old time fandom friend) and did all the other touristy things: Tower (needed more time there), boat ride on the Thames, double decker sightseeing bus, British Museum, and hubby walked to the Beatles studio on Abby Road. But, once we'd done all that, we were sort of done. The small villages and small cities we stayed in (mostly in the mid-lands and north) were much more relaxing and there is just so very much to see in the country. Couldn't get to it all.

Excited for you, this all sounds super awesome, and like the fulfillment of all those dreams we have been talking about together since we were 18...and also COMPLETELY green with envy!!! Stop making me remember all the reasons I really want to see England! At least until I can find a good conference to justify my going there!
