hurrah for meatloaf!

Not the most exciting use of recipe #7, I admit, but it tasted rather lovely.

The recipe said I should chop my onion finely - and I tried. But I think next time I'll have to use a food processor to prevent large bits of onion in there.


Yummy yummy meatloaf...

Plus, it spares my eyes. (a little - the chemicals are still released when you cook them, but you don't have to put your head right over the pot in the same way as when you are chopping onions.)

Ooh, good point.

My eyes seem to dislike onions more and more. These days I just shrug and put up my tears streaming down my face...

The only solid solution I've found to the whole onion thing is to freeze the buggers first. But then the onions are mushy - not a problem in a meatloaf, but not so pleasant when you want the onion texture.

My grandfather, apparently, can cut onions with no ill effect - that gene seems not to have come down to me. Alas.
