So, choosing the best Disney movie is pretty much an impossible task. We need to break it down into smaller categories. Much smaller categories.

Best Heroes

Most Charming Hero
Eugene from Tangled
And I love him.

Sexiest Hero
Robin from Robin Hood
Seriously, that fox is damn sexy. It shouldn't be possible, but there it is.

Funniest Hero
The Beast from Beauty and the Beast
(Or at least, he's clearly the most adorkable.)

Most Heroic Hero
Ralph from Wreck-It Ralph
As demonstrated in his saving-the-day-and-almost-dying scene. (Sure, lots of them save the day and almost die, but Ralph does it so well.)

Best Princesses

Loveliest Princess
Rapunzel from Tangled
Especially with the pixie cut.

Sexiest Princess
Jasmine from Aladdin
Look at her walk, people! (Not to mention the voice.)

Funniest Princess
Moana from Moana
The prize nearly went to Ariel, but I love Moana yelling at the sea for getting her sandy.

Most Kickass Princess
Jasmine from Aladdin
Which is ridiculous, because obviously the correct answer is Mulan. But I love the way Jasmine can very smoothly start lying to Jafar and immediately get control of the situation. She rocks. (Also, her walking in on the three men deciding her future is awesome. I love how all their faces immediately switch to panic mode.)

Most Inspiring Princess
Mulan from Mulan
I LOVE HER.

Best Villains

Most Fashionable Villain
Dr Facilier from The Princess and the Frog
Which is... honestly not who I expected to pick. But seriously, his outfit really works.

Most Menacing Villain
Mother Gothel from Tangled
"You want me to be the bad guy? Fine. Now I'm the bad guy."

Funniest Villain
Yzma from The Emperor's New Groove
Hooray! And I am so impressed with Eartha Kitt. That woman is incredible.

Best Evil Plot
Ursula from The Little Mermaid
Her plan was surprisingly foolproof (excluding boat stabbings).

Best Sidekicks

Funniest Sidekick
Sebastian from The Little Mermaid
He's so good at sounding despairing and hilarious at the same time.

Cutest Sidekick
Pua from Moana
Seriously, was that pig designed to sell merchandise? Because it worked. I want a Pua plushy.

Most Helpful Sidekick
A tie! Between Abu from Aladdin and Kronk from The Emperor's New Groove. Both do a really good job of helping out their respective people.

Most Interesting Sidekick
Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather from Sleeping Beauty
One could, in fact, make a very good case for them being the main characters in the story.

Best Non-Speaking Animal
Maximus from Tangled
See: my icon.

Best Songs

Best 'I Want' Song
"How Far I'll Go" from Moana
Mainly because she's actually torn between her wants rather than just being after something she can't have.

Best Love Song
"Can You Feel The Love Tonight" from The Lion King
Because there is no real romance before this; the song has to do all the heavy work of establishing it. And it manages to.

Best Villain Song
"Be Prepared" from The Lion King
It is really the ultimate villain song, that all other villains should aspire to. (Although Ursula's gets damn close.)

Most Singable Song
"I'll Make a Man Out Of You" from Mulan
LET'S GET DOWN TO BUSINESS! TO DEFEAT THE HUNS!

Best Song Lyrics
All of Moana's. Because Lin Manuel Miranda is without peer.

Best Song Music
"Kiss the Girl" from The Little Mermaid
I love the instruments behind it.

Best Stories

Most Inspiring Story
Lilo & Stitch
Because family.

Best Romance
Tangled
Rapunzel and Eugene spend time together! And get to know each other! And are vulnerable with each other! And actually date for a while before deciding to get married! It's like a miracle!

Best Montage
Tarzan
Specifically, the bit where he's learning about humans and human culture.

Best Actual Plot
Wreck-It Ralph
Everything happening in the right order, with every piece of plot introduced precisely when it needs to be.

Best Visuals

Most Gorgeous Character Designs
Moana
Narrowly beating The Princess and the Frog, mainly because of that hair. And the tattoos.

Most Beautiful Scenery
Treasure Planet
(Which I haven't seen in fifteen years, but seriously - look it up. It's stunning.)

Best Colour Choices
Aladdin
The use of blues and reds is just superb.

So, which is the actual, overall, best Disney movie? Beats me. (But Mulan is my favourite.)

Choosing a favorite Disney film is like choosing which child you like best. It varies from day to day, or so I'm led to believe. Emperor's New Groove is probably my favorite for all things funny, and I can rewatch Rapunzel a million times, but I can't even begin to say which songs I love best. Though Be Prepared is an absolutely fantastic song that I will randomly sing to this day. And yes, Jasmine is the all-time sexiest princess. I used to dig Belle a lot when younger, but grew out of it a bit.

Ok, now I want to go and listen to a playlist of non-stop Disney songs all day.

I will have to agree with you on Robin Hood. My first male crush -- yes, at the ripe old age of 6, I fell in love with the Fox from Robin Hood. And it was VERY hard to dislodge that Fox. I have very high standards, apparently. (Although Kimba the White Lion in the Anime cartoon (not the Disney version) came in a VERY close second.

You know there's something odd going on -- when you prefer the FOX to Errol Flynn's Robin Hood. (I was actually disappointed when I saw the Errol Flynn version, it just did not hold up to the Fox version...nor for that matter did Kevin Costner...although that's less surprising, considering Alan Rickman was more interesting in that version as the Sheriff of Nottingham.)

PS: Yes, you are correct about the two songs from the Lion King. Elton John nailed the Lion King soundtrack. It has some of the best songs -- there's four songs on that, which do not leave the brain for days and I'll watch over and over again.

And yes, Tarzan did have the best montage...helped with the best song from that movie, Strangers Like You, which thank you...is now riffling through my brain.

And yes, it is impossible to pick a favorite Disney flick. For a while it was Robin Hood. I did like Sleeping Beauty -- but mainly for the Art (not the romance, which was sort of non-existent but the art was different). But no, hard to really select one.

Lion King and Sleeping Beauty had the best villians. Little Mermaid and Aladdin had the best side-kicks. Rapunzel and Robin Hood had the best heroes. Mulan and Moana had the best heroines..and yes, Wreck-it Like Ralph and Ralph Breaks the Internet had the cleverest plots.

Ralph Breaks the Internet has its moments. I actually found the little bit after the first credits sequence hilarious (but I'm aware not everyone shares my sense of humor).

It does a nice job of making fun of the internet - much as it did with arcade games. Also it has some strong female characters in it -- one's a race car driver that I appreciated.

Yep, Tarzan has some good montages -- although one could state that most of the film is montage. Watching it is a bit like watching an animated Phil Collins music video at different points..
