DOUBLE photo post (because I'm slack)

Day 183:

This is a food court that's supposed to look like a village.
It's pretty fun, actually. There's a single menu, and they bring food out to your table - like a restaurant - but it's got lots of different food options that you go and order - like a food court. I had mango chicken and garlic naan bread. 'Twas all extremely yummy.
Day 184:

My tea stash, at work.
I have three different kinds of black tea, some herbal tisanes, some honey, and two different infusers...
Day 185:

Look at the sky! Isn't it pretty!
(Ignore the blurriness of everything else. I was in a car.)
Day 186:

Me, wearing a funky Victorian outfit.
This is the thing about buying stuff from overseas - the delivery costs are generally higher than the cost of whatever it is you're buying, so once you have a single thing to get, it's much more economical to getthirty a few other things as well.
Day 187:

I thought I'd take a photo of one of my favourite necklaces.
The reason it ranks so high in necklaceyness is because it used to be a spoon. I bought it from a woman who makes jewellery out of antique cutlery...
Day 188:

This is Southbank, in the city. (So called because it's the river bank on the south side.)
At night it's teeming with all sorts of people, and lots of street performers, and is really quite exciting. During the day, it's just a nice place to have lunch.
Day 189:

Here is Michael, looking cute.
Day 190:

A situation with multiple nephews requires an exponential increase in the number of toys. On this particular day, all five of them were there, so we had an entire town of fun plastic people out to play with. (Well, the older four played. Michael just watched.)
If you look closely, you'll see that the school and the farmhouse are right next to a medieval castle (complete with troll) and a spaceship (complete with alien). Highly anachronistic, but no-one seems to mind.
Day 191:

Boys having a picnic!
(I remember my sisters and I having exactly the same sort of picnic, in exactly the same spot, about 25 years ago.)
Day 192:

My lolly stash, at work. Normally it'd just be chocolate, but I was feeling like something different.
For foreigners: you can see here M&Ms, Jaffas, sour worms, fizzoes, Skittles, musk sticks, caramel squares, and bullets. The sour worms are the best ones - although I'm beginning to get pretty enthused about the bullets.
Day 193:

Who can guess what this is?
Anyone?
Okay, I'll tell you: ****It's a ceiling tile, right above my desk. I have no idea why they always put little holes in those tiles. Wouldn't it make more sense just to do flat squares?****
Day 194:

Salade compose and pancake lasagne, as eaten on Wednesday. YUM.
Day 195:

Here is proof that I need some bigger vases.
The boyfriend bought me flowers (because he's lovely) and the only thing I had to put them in was a huge tin for Frangelico that my housemate had. (And then it leaked all over the bench anyway, warped my bread board... and I went vase shopping.)
Day 196:

A jigsaw puzzle! That I just finished!

Apparently some people get unpleasantly dizzy when looking at blank ceilings. Still others are fascinated (and thus distracted) by all those little ridges, but at least it's not dizziness.

Date: 2011-07-16 04:24 pm (UTC)The holes in the ceiling tile are part of the sound dampening effect. I know that painting this type of tile can greatly lessen the fire fighting ability built into the tile.
[I thought the picture was formica counter. Duh]
