weird idea that hit at 3am

deird1Does anyone think it would be really fun to have a whole menagerie of pets named after superheroes?
To start with, you'd have two female cats called Black Cat and Catgirl. And a pet tarantula called Spiderman (Pete, for short).
But until pet ownership laws get a lot more relaxed, having Batman, Wolverine, and Doctor Octopus might be a bit tricky - so we'd have to move on to more complex possibilities...
Like a greyhound called The Flash.
Or a stray cat called Rogue.
A goldfish called Aquaman.
That old grumpy dog could be The Beast. The battle-scarred tomcat with only one good eye could be Cyclops. The budgie could be Hawkgirl. And that butterfly who keeps hanging around the flower bed could be Storm (throwing in a Discworld reference at the same time).
There could be a pet frog called Superman. Sure, the tall buildings he'd be leaping with a single bound would be made out of lego bricks, but still...
Heck, if you had a chameleon, you could even call her the Invisible Woman.
Wouldn't it be fun? And it would lead to some very interesting blog posts. Imagine it: "The Flash and Cyclops had a fight yesterday, which led to some scratched faces and lots of growling on both sides. Also, Spiderman got out of his tank last night - and I'm hoping he's okay, but Rogue has been looking queasy, and I'm hoping it's not indigestion. Poor Spidey wouldn't be very good for her..."
