Day 43:

Pumpkin soup, at Miss Marple's.

Miss Marple's is a lovely restaurant in "the hills" (Sassafras - but everyone just talks about "going to the hills"), where the decor is traditionally English and the food is extremely filling. I had pumpkin soup, chicken and asparagus fingers, and a banana split.

The nephews had "kid ice-creams" for dessert, and were thrilled - but still asked if they could share my banana split.

Day 44:

No, it's not a rather green pumpkin.

It's a rather round zucchini. (Grown by Mum.) The peaches are included for size comparison purposes.

Day 45:

Smudge, enjoying my rocking chair.

The chair was a gift for my 21st. It's one of the funky "glider" chairs they sell to nursing mothers. I sat in one when I was 14, and wanted one ever since...

Day 46:

This is my train station, in the city.

I was actually planning to take one of the train coming into the station, but the woman in the safety vest you can see here came over and told me to stop taking photos. I rolled my eyes, but agreed.

Day 47:

Observant readers may have noticed that I've been home sick.

These tissues are the result of one day's being sick. I do have a bin, but that requires aim and... well, caring. When I'm horribly sick I just drop used tissues all over the floor until I'm well enough to notice the mess.

Day 48:

My cat, waiting for me to get into bed.

He's so pretty.

Day 49:

This was a present from my housemate.

It lives on my dining room wall, and holds three tealight candles. When lit, it actually provides a surprising amount of illumination. When unlit, it just looks nice.

The tissues speak eloquently of just how desperately ill you were.

I love the Ploughmans there, but I no longer have the capacity to finish one, let alone go on to the Vicars Folly for dessert.

Oh - nice looking pumpkin soup! What a pretty wall sconce - and pretty cats, not so pretty annoying lady in yellow diddy-jacket - and oh how sick you must have felt - I do hope you are back to yourself by now.

I love the cats' expressions, and the vignetting on the last photo is great — the flash makes it look like the sconce is just floating in white space.

Could you not have pulled out your work credentials and claimed that you were allowed to take photos? Kerith

I love pumpkin soup, and that looks delicious!
Sorry you're still sick (as evidenced by the tissues all over the floor :) )
What a sparkly clean and attractive station that is. No pictures? Was there a reason?

Hope you [and your nose] are better.
Love the kitty/pics. The do look relaxed!
The edge treatment on the train station make it very visible and safe. Plus it looks cleaner than NYC.
