Next time someone starts doing episode-by-episode reviews of their first time watching BtVS, I'm going to hop in my time machine, zoom off to the future, and check out what they think of Smashed.

Because if their opinion of Buffy/Spike takes a nosedive at the end of the episode, then it's not worth me wasting my time reading all the previous reviews.

I know! It's ridiculous.

And it's not even as if I need the reviewers to like Buffy/Spike, either. I just don't want them to be all in favour, watch Smashed, and start screaming "abuse! abuse!" and suddenly hating everything.

So basically, you're only interested in reviews that reinforce your opinions. That's not what reviews are supposed to do. Reviews are fundamentally about their author's opinion, not yours, to think otherwise is incredibly self-centered and childish.

Well, for what it's worth they are now leaving Spike completely out of reviews. Sweeney is so pleased she no longer need to comment on Ramen Noodle head! Gah!
