I must be the only person in the universe who likes the TV show of The Dresden Files better than the book series.

This is for many reasons, including...

...Bob. Rather than a lewd, cackling, sex-obsessed air spirit, I much prefer Bob as a refined, wise-cracking, STILL sex-obsessed ghost.

...Harry. While undoubtedly the same character in both media, I've always thought that Paul Blackthorne portrays him better than Jim Butcher writes him.


But then there's the part where I'm crazy. Because no-one likes the show better than the books. It's just not possible.

...it's still better, though. Really.

Nope, not blasphemy.

I loved the show and aborted the novels on multiple tries. Just can't slog through the "hard-boiled" style.

I see DF fic links regularly and I've been curious, so this is interesting to hear. Perhaps I'll give the TV show a go sometime soon. *ponders*

As someone who secretly prefers the film version of a novel by a classic and revered writer (whose work I also absolutely adore), I understand.

I've only read one of the books, so I can't really compare as a whole, but I did prefer the TV version of Bob.

Well, I couldn't get even a couple pages into any of the books I tried, so this sounds like a good thing.

I like the LotR movies much better than the books. There are quite a few Jeremy Brett Sherlock Holmes episodes I like better than the stories they're based on. I like the BBC Pride and Prejudice as much as I like the book. While I don't like either of them, the Twilight movies are better than the books. I like the movie Dangerous Liasons better than the book it's based on. So, quite possible :).
