My brain has a weird relationship with tv split-screens.

Every time I watch The Parent Trap, I spend half the movie trying to figure out what Hallie and Annie's distinguishing features are - before once again realising that they're both Lindsay Lohan and by definition have the exact same face.

And tonight? I was rewatching Doctor Who, when Amy and Amelia got together and started talking... and I spent far too long wondering what kind of split-screen they were using. And then realised that, even though they're playing the same person, they're two different actors. They're obviously two different actors. Who couldn't possibly be mistaken for the same actor. And yet...

Like I say. My brain has not yet learned the difference between fiction and reality. One of these decades I'll figure that out.

Lindsey Lohan? I thought it was Hayley Mills!

I felt my age when you said Lindsay Lohan. I fully expected you to say Hayley Mills. Also, despite having seen both versions multiple times, I've only just realised they changed the names of the twins for the remake. It's Susan and Sharon in the original. And Lottie and Lisa in the book. And clearly I am a nerd... ;)

You would have had the toughest time with All My Children. There was an actor who not only played twins, but the twins often impersonated each other...

I have a similar issue when Sarah Michelle Gellar plays Buffy, and Faith, and the Buffybot. It all gets very confusing. *nods*

Back when I used to watch Days of our Lives, one character had a twin...who was distinguishable by the fact she wore black-rimmed glasses and hilariously bad false teeth. The actors must have such fun doing things like that.
