Day 3: Favorite Song Used In An Episode

This was nearly another tie. But, no, despite my Sarah McLachlan love and that fabulous end-of-season sequence, the prize has to go to Michelle Branch's "Goodbye To You".

For those of you who are less obsessed with this song than I am: it's found at the end of Tabula Rasa, and plays over footage of Giles leaving America, Buffy making out with Spike, and Tara leaving Willow.

The words just match up so well with the situation – especially Tara and Willow – and the music is so well matched to the visuals. I love it, and want to rewatch the ending every time I see it.

Hmm... you know, not counting songs from the Musical, I'd have to say "Stupid Thing." It's weirdly prophetic, if you really think about... plus, I really do quite like the way it sounds.

100% yes. I'm very unmusical, but that song got me on first watching, and it still has power.

Goodbye to You is absolutely my pick as well. But wow, there are so many great ones. Stupid Thing, as mentioned above. Out of This World (Dead Things). Wild Horses (The Prom), My Way (Lovers Walk), Danse Macabre (Hush).

OK, stopping, because I could really go on and on.

Ooh... so many scenes to rewatch...

That absolutely would have been my choice too. It was so perfect for that end scene and it is not easily forgotten.

For me it's a toss-up between Blink 182's 'All the Small Things' (Something Blue) and Aimee Mann's 'Pavlov's Bell' (Sleeper).
