Unfortunately, this is not the case in any rural area because our water mostly comes from bores so that all the nice water can go to Melbourne. So if you go anywhere outside Melbourne, they may give you filtered water (perfectly nice) or a glass of oddly coloured poolwater (makes you thirsty). Ask first.
