- LJ removed subject headings
- LJ made ridiculous displays of all your icons instead of a simple drop-down menu



Things I did NOT know were coming today:

- LJ removed the "parent" option
- LJ removed ?format=light
- LJ removed customisable picture-sizing
- LJ made the "link" function extremely time-consuming to use



Are they trying to troll their userbase?

And YES, format=light has GONE. One of the most useful functions of the ENTIRE SITE has disappeared, without even a farewell. *smashes things*

Well, if I turn off custom comment pages, it doesn't resize images. But then I'm stuck with ugly new comment pages. WHY. I thought I could maybe ignore the new comment pages for the most part (and I was pleased the the margins problem was fixed), but if it's going to resize all my images if I turn on custom comment pages....

You know how some livejournals will be red writing on black, two inches wide, and flashy images across the background? Format=light allowed you to remove all of those problems and just see the entry the way you wanted.

Oddly, the only place my drop down icon menu and subject headers have disappeared from is one community I belong to - they are still there everywhere else. Which is good, as the 'display' version has them in, not alphabetical order, but the order in which I upload them.

The other things I either don't recognise at all, or don't use. so I hadn't noticed!

I don't have any of the changes yet either. I assume they're being rolled out gradually over the different servers. (Hell, I still don't have the Twitter changes people were complaining about early last week.)

All these awful LJ options seem very abstract to me, because I haven't seen an LJ page since I came home. (For whatever reason, on dial-up, DW pages load in a reasonable time-frame and LJ pages often never load.)

I'm kind of glad I'm missing the worst of the drama; by the time I get back I'll know what to expect. But I know I'm going to be very, very sad when I do get back. Especially about the "parent" option. And the "link" option.
