deird1So, here's the dream:
One day, in the far-off distant future, I will be reasonably wealthy, with a part-time editing job, but enough money that I can take the non-part-time bit to do what I feel like.
And there'll be a factory. Possibly something to do with the noble art of carriage making - except, owing to the dreaded rise of the automobile, the factory has stood, silent and dilapidated, for seventy years. Wishing it wasn't so empty or dusty.
...enter Mez. I will look around the dusty falling-to-bits building, see what it could be, and convince the owners to sell it to me for almost nothing.
Then I'll get to work.
{two years of hard work and awesome renovateyness later...}
The factory doors will still stay - along with the outer walls.
Inside, there'll be polished wood floors, restored from their original state, and area rugs for different bits of house. It'll be mostly open plan.
The big fireplace in one wall will be a perfect spot for a few couches.
There'll be a corner just for artwork, sewing, and crafty things.
The oven will be an Aga Range, which will also provide all the hot water as well.
The mezzanine floor halfway along the building will have two bedrooms (mine, and a spare) and a bathroom with one of those old deep baths.
And there'll be attics - for fun exploring and randomness.
That's the dream.
