show!!!

I am officially in love with The West Wing.

I've been borrowing it from a friend on a season-by-season basis, and have spent a number of weeks stuck between seasons 4 and 5. And every time I mentioned this to anyone, they'd get a bit of a sad look on their face and say "Yeah, that's where it changes. You know, because Sorkin left..."

YES. IT DOES CHANGE. INTO GETTING EVEN MORE AWESOME.

I enjoyed seasons 1 to 4. I love beyond all reason season 5.

Please tell me it doesn't stay this good? Because otherwise I just might have to take all my hard-earned money that's supposed to buy me a house (or at least a couple of bricks therein) and use it to buy a dvd boxset.

I thought the later seasons were weaker than the earlier ones, but I still enjoyed them (though to be fair, I missed large chunks of the penultimate season). Then again, I also kinda liked STudio 60 which everyone else hates, so...

I wish there had been more Studio 60. But then I scraped together enough to buy each WW season on release from my pension.

One word (well, two...): Wedding wishlist. That way you don't have to pay for it. :-D

I love very little about TWW as much as I love The Supremes. Even if the resolution is pat, the whole episode *sings*.

And other good parts.

I like 6/7 as well; good new characters and a real sense of development and transition. Plus CJ continues to be recognised for the awesome, which is a good thing.

Definitely one of the better shows ever made. I drifted in and out after awhile (see my posts admitting that I have a hard time sticking with a show indefinitely), but always wandered back to see what was going on with everyone. I second the "wedding wish list" option. :)

I have bad news for you -- it only gets better after season 5. Largely because there are suddenly more women doing more things, but it's amazing.

It's great isn't it? I'm currently re-watching it but am still back in season 1 and only watching a few each week.

A couple of comments:
1. EzyDVD has the box set for only $99.97 which, while not cheap, is pretty damn good for all seven seasons!
2. There's some astoundingly good West Wing fanfic out there, particularly if you're a Josh/Donna shipper (as I am). You can find links to a lot of it on my rec site.
3. If you read no other fic, check out the "West Wing Fantasy Season 8" (see my site). This is an entire season 8 written by a group of half a dozen of the top fanfic writers in the genre. Massive spoilers (of course) if you've not seen the final season.

Just go out and buy them. I have four series that I am constantly returning to-- Stargate, The Newsroom (Currently on air on HBO, also by Sorkin, and just as awesome), West Wing, and the OC.
