That wikipedia photos is misleading- I have never seen single-colour fairy bread! It's just wrong. And it does look rather icky.
It
has
to be multicoloured hundreds and thousands, not single-colour flat sprinkles or anything else.
Fairy bread was certainly a staple of every kids' party I ever attended, along with fairy cakes, cordial, chocolate crackles, and jelly...
