I really want to see a movie villain who abhors killing people or putting them in physical pain.
Like – a villain, definitely. But restricted by his own moral code to outsmarting you, or misleading you, or tying you up in a dungeon and keeping you well fed, or framing you for a crime and getting you arrested...

People get frustrated with the old-style villains and their locking the heroes up instead of killing them, but right now, I'd really love to see a hero tied up and at the villain's mercy saying "You've stolen all my money, ruined my reputation, burned down my house, and made me an international fugitive. WHY DON'T YOU JUST KILL ME???" and the villain responding "What? I'm not a monster." before running off to complete their dastardly plot...
