the state of the fan

So, if perchance you've been on Tumblr for the last few years, you might be wondering if I'm at all up to the same fannish stuff that I used to be.

Not so much. Because:
- I have children taking up my fic-writing time.
- I am much happier with my work, so I'm not ficcing just to stay sane.
- No-one's really been writing much meta here.
- The fandoms I'm interested in aren't the ones that my flist wandered off to.

BUT.

I'm still interested in fannishness. And I'll happily participate in any discussions on the subject.

I've watched quite a few shows lately - some new, some old, some my perpetual obsessions that I will never quite stop watching. The obsessions are BtVS (obviously), Farscape, Leverage, and The West Wing. The new ones that I'd be somewhat interested in discussing are Newsroom and Elementary (although I'm two seasons behind on that one).

Yeah, I haven't written much fic over the last several years for similar reasons (children aside, since I don't have those!). I haven't fallen into a new and active fandom, though I hope it will happen at some point.

I'm always up for talking about The West Wing, and someday I will actually watch Farscape all the way through!

Farscape is wonderful. I'm rewatching it right now. How much have you seen?

I think I watched maybe two seasons of it? This was years ago, though, back during lj days. I think I would appreciate it more now.

Oh, please do watch the rest. Season 3 is one of the best seasons of television I've ever seen - for sheer "How are the writers doing that?" if nothing else.

It's on my list! I just watch a lot less television than I used to, so I don't know when I'll get to it. I add a lot more than I cross off to said list.
