Dear Mr Morrison,
I was disturbed and saddened to read about your instructions to your staff to call asylum seekers "illegal" arrivals.
It may have escaped your attention, but it is not illegal, either under domestic law or international law, for a person to claim asylum in Australia.
Why is this government so eager to run a smear campaign against refugees? Do people asking for help scare you so much?
Please reconsider this dehumanising policy. It is beneath you.
sincerely, Mez

As per: http://theconversation.com/hockey-boosts-debt-ceiling-by-200-billion-and-announces-inquiry-into-everything-19446
"The government’s Commission of Audit will look at extending “user pays” and encouraging individuals to provide for themselves, in an inquiry directed to achieving a sustainable surplus within a decade."
[...]
"As well, the commission will report on the long term sustainability of the budget position, identifying ways to address the risks “including by introducing appropriate incentives to encourage self-provision of services by individuals”."
From all the indications, I suspect the answer to your question is "Yes. Yes, it does."
People asking for help indicates that all is not perfect in the world, and points to a difference between theory and practice. This is therefore hazardous, given most Liberal policy (such as there is of it) is based on theoretical constructs and air-dreaming. In the ideal world as inhabited by the policy mavens of the Liberal party, nobody needs help because everyone can pull themselves up by their own bootstraps and climb onto their own shoulders to scale the barriers in their path single-handedly. Nobody is socially advantaged (although there are certainly people who are socially disadvantaged - but that's their own fault for not being good enough people[1]), and institutional privileging of certain individuals doesn't happen because the law is impartial (and forbids sleeping under bridges to the rich and poor alike).
