Happy Towel Day, everyone!
This is your former thirty year old, speaking to you from the lofty heights of thirty-one.
The view from here is excellent. Everything smells better and looks nicer, I feel so much wiser, the world makes sense, somehow, and I have this sort of peace...
Okay, I lie.
I am still the same person who pretends to be asleep on Saturday mornings while her cat stands on her face demanding breakfast. I still check my email first thing in the morning. I'm still hugging soft toys because apparently I won't ever grow out of that. And I just managed to put my foot through my fitted sheet - thus meeting my klutzy quotient of the day.
About the only thing that's different is that I now have to adapt to put the "one" on the end whenever I'm asked my age. Wish me luck...

I already have my lilac ready. My next-door neighbours have a lilac tree* and offered to let us pick some of the flowers (with neither prompting nor apparent awareness of the upcoming Geek Pride Day). There's a surprise (relatively speaking) frost coming tonight, so Mom picked us each a flower bunch today and put them in sugar water for tomorrow.
*I swear it's a tree. I had no idea it was supposed to be a bush until yesterday. (I also didn't know it was a lilac until yesterday.)

If you're still hugging soft toys, I'd say the view from thirty one sounds pretty good to me.
(I only just came up with a name for my Squishable Penguin yesterday. :3 )
I think an important part of growing up is realizing that you'll never really grow up. I'm already looking back at some of my younger friends and looking forward to the day they realize this.
