disorganised fretting

Accidentally left my wallet at work.

It is really disconcerting getting in your car to go to a doctor's appointment and thinking "I can't pay. I can't go to the bank and get out money so I can give them cash. I can't show them my driver's license to prove that I am honest and coming back to pay. If I crash on the way to the doctor, I can't show the police my driver's license. If I crash and wind up unconscious in hospital, they won't be able to go through my wallet to find out who I am..."

Ah well. At least I can get it back tomorrow.

This is why I wish I could just have a chip in my wrist. Much harder to lose or forget or have stolen, and organisations like police and hospitals have permission to get certain types of information from it (name, age, medical history) if you're unconscious. For anyone else, you sign a thing before they're allowed to get your info or send you stuff.
