clever kitty

Elf has discovered how to open my wardrobe door with his feet.

He has since decided that the ideal way to spend a day is to push open the wardrobe, climb into the dark little cave that is revealed, and snuggle up on top of my pyjamas.

There's really no way I can prevent him from doing this. I'm pretty much stuck hoping that my jammies won't get totally covered in fur...

LOL! Cats can actually be scary smart. Our cat Numfar actually figured out that doorknobs open doors and that you have to twist them to make it work. So far, thankfully, she hasn't been able to get enough leverage to make it work... but we're *never* going to put any of those lever type knobs anywhere in the house.

You could always do what we ended up doing in our closet. We put a small cat bed (more of a pad, really) on top of the place the cat decided she liked to sit.

Hee! Yep! We considered a bunch of other names when we got her but it really seemed to fit her. She's the grey tabby in the photo (that was taken not long after we got her). The other cat is Zoƫ (yes, we named both of our cats after Whedon characters).

I think Elf feels that he is making you more beautiful by covering your clothing in fur and thereby allowing you to affect a more feline appearance.

Ha! My cats are always sneaking into the closet and there's tons of hair inside there.

My cats have figured out how to get into the drawers under my waterbed. And there's no way to stop them. So when I leave for long periods of time, it's not surprising to find the drawers ajar and socks pulled out. Annoying.

Ha! Chelsea used to do that, too. She was so disappointed when I moved because she can't open the new closet doors. Now she waits for me to get dressed in the morning, darts in, and jumps up to the highest shelf where I can't get her down.

Awww. Also, terribly clever.

Max makes sure my clothing is all covered in kitty fur any chance he gets. And since he looks so cute curling up in my freshly done laundry, he generally gets lots of chances. I dump the laundry on my bed for sorting and folding and he goes :D and dives in. What else can I do but let him?
