dammit, LJ...

Things I knew were coming today:

- LJ removed subject headings
- LJ made ridiculous displays of all your icons instead of a simple drop-down menu

Things I did NOT know were coming today:

- LJ removed the "parent" option
- LJ removed ?format=light
- LJ removed customisable picture-sizing
- LJ made the "link" function extremely time-consuming to use

Are they trying to troll their userbase?

...and LiveJournal has gone insane.

Suddenly all my posts are using my default icon, my memories have disappeared, and so have my tags. What the frell?

Anyone else having problems, or is it just me?

LJ failage

I can't quite decide whether I'm more annoyed about the Facebook linkage, or about the fact that slashes are no longer allowed in tags - thus rendering all the pairing tags at [livejournal.com profile] still_grrr completely unworkable.

Screw You, LJ

From here:

One of the benefits of the work we've done to purge suspended accounts is that we will now be able to purge inactive journals and communities too--something you've been requesting for years! A journal is defined as inactive if it has not been logged into for 24 consecutive months. A community is defined as inactive if has not been updated for 24 consecutive months.

From here:

The new modifications will actually allow us to purge not only deleted and suspended accounts, but inactive accounts as well, as announced in today's news post. This was not the only change put into the worker scripts; we also had to add logic that removed comments and community entries posted by accounts being purged.

So, [livejournal.com profile] remixredux08? No entries for two years. That's gone.

And the 52 posts of fanfic and fannish content that [livejournal.com profile] zandra_x made on [livejournal.com profile] still_grrr? Deleted account. Those posts will be deleted too.

Once again: SCREW YOU, LJ.
