6) Even if the rest of the story were not unbelievably cool, Martin would still have my undying love for being the first fantasy writer of my acquaintance to notice that dragons breathe fire and hence should not be eating their meat raw.

I'm going the opposite route from you. I'll read the books after the TV series is done because I don't want to be spoiled.

I'm loving the series, the acting is amazing. And I know the books are much deeper so I have that to look forward to.

I see that the fifth book finally came out. I wonder what the timeline is for the next one.

Yeah, I think you really do have to pick a single stream if you want to stay unspoiled. Unfortunately, I hadn't planned to read the books, so I didn't stay away from tv spoilers beforehand...
