best finale I've seen in a while

Just watched the Leverage series finale.

Halfway through the season, I'd been thinking "Yeah... It's clearly flagging a bit. Only remnants of its former glory left... Good thing they ended it while it was still okay. *sighs* Sad, really."

But this finale? HELL YEAH.

Just...

The most brilliant acting I've seen from Timothy Hutton EVER. In a totally convincing way.

And they were so killing off the entire cast, because it's the finale and you can DO that, and they were so GOING to do that, because the writers were EVIL PERSONIFIED, but it was so going to be the BEST FINALE EVER because of them doing that.

Only please not let them really do that? Please? And we're only 14 minutes in, so clearly there's got to be a twist where they're all okay, right? Right? *hugs knees*

But even though they all died and it was going to be SO SAD, they had so many cool things! And so many allusions to the first episode! In a way that I haven't seen since Dawson's Creek (of all things), and really love! So cool!

With Elliot hitting people, and the ridiculous acting, and Parker, and...

And! Stirling! Stirling is the final villain! WOOOOOOOO!!!!!

And one of them still being alive, and probably Parker - except it couldn't be Parker, because everyone was expecting it to be Parker - and that would work in a way that all of them dying wouldn't, which would at least give us some sort of hope...

FOLLOWED BY AN AWESOME PLAN.

Along with Sophie Devereaux bringing the house down as Lady Macbeth (as well she should). GO SOPHIE. She should seriously just con playgoers out of their money every night, and use the conning aspect to make herself act brilliantly, and then they'd all be so thrilled at the acting that they wouldn't even care about all the robbery.

Stirling and Nate using each other's first names? Made me squee, and momentarily slash them.

Stirling leaving the note? Made me punch the air and yell triumphantly.

AND THE ENDING! WITH PARKER BEING NATE! AND CARRYING ON THE LEGACY! AND PARKER! AND PARKER'S BOYS! AND NOW PARKER HAS BECOME THE UBER-NATE!!!!!

...I rest my case. Awesome, awesome show.

O_o I'd heard that DVDs did, but I didn't know books did as well. Sounds like everything costs double there what it does here. And the books aren't that cheap here, either.

Well, should I ever come into possession of PDFs or an extra copy (it's more likely than you think), I'll send it your way.
