Rowen's argument strikes me as really weird considering that it's posted on a blog which attracted most of its readers because of the 'Left Behind' reviews and then spawned the 'Right Behind' fanfiction community. And almost all of the 'Right Behind' fics show how fanfiction can transcend published works and create something far superior to the original.
