I was waiting for you to hurry up and announce things. :-p

Congratulations to the two of you!! Does Lachie understand about being a big brother, yet? Will you find out bub's sex, or wait until it's arrived?

To me, gynaecologist is someone you'd see for 'troubles'- obstetrician is the doc who gives prenatal care, and delivers the bub when the time is right.
(I certainly felt more comfortable talking about 'my obstetrician' than 'my gyno'... :-/ )

PS- I actually like the fact they hand you a towel, draw the curtain, and say e.g. "I'll give you a moment to get ready, just hop up on the table with the towel over you, and I'll be back in a moment"- there's a lot of privacy loss for a patient who is uncomfortable with it all, so having the extra not-looking is nice. Even though they obviously *do* have to look when they're sticking big scanning things inside you.
PPS- Internal u/s are nowhere near as nice as all the scan-over-the-tummy they only show on telly...luckily I only recall needing the internal ones if there was a problem/ more detail needed. Every other time was the 'argh, that's cold' gel on the tummy, which is much more civilised.
